Quote #3

Jangan bersedih jika kita masih Single.
(Do not be sad if we are still Single.)

Matahari pun Single, tetapi tetap bersinar :')
[The Sun is Single, too, but still shink :')]

Does this even considered a quote? Haha. Be proud, you are still single.. high 5 :D

Btw.. I thought the Sun is a star and there are thousand other stars in the galaxy? :3

Penang Tan Jetty

As in the previous entry, Penang Chew Jetty, this is Penang Tan Jetty, the jetty next to Chew jetty. I have nothing much to talk about this jetty so let's just let picture tell the story :) This jetty is somehow smaller than the first one I visited. This is because the Chew Jetty is the biggest clan jetty.

Here we go, Tan Jetty!!

Just like Chew Jetty, we can watch the beautiful sunrise from this jetty as well..

Just look at how big the Chew Jetty is!

Sunlight :) Day light :)

The view of Chew Jetty from Tan Jetty

I as well googled this jetty is:-

- Houses people of the Tan clan whose forefathers were Chinese immigrants who came from the village of Bing Zhou She, in Tong Aun District, Quan Zhou Prefecture, Fujian Province, China
- Created to house the coolies who were unable to afford living quarters on dry land, much of which is already owned by the Europeans or the Chinese towkays.

After a long journey (nah), we walked out of the jetty and as we continued walking, we found a kopitiam located in between Tan Jetty and Lee Jetty so we decided to stop by and have our breakfast.

Bandung with kuey teow th'ng

I don't know about you guys reading this, but for me the food here is quite delicious. It reminds me of my childhood where I followed my parents to kopitiam and they made me have these food although I used to hate them. What I ate was only Hokkien Mee. Now I start to love these food, they are delicious. The woman who took our order is friendly :) I will definitely love to eat there again! Do drop by and try ^^

Culling of stray dogs, is it a must?

As we all know, rabies is spreading in the northern region of Peninsular Malaysia. There were like three cases already happening in Penang. The state government is taking the step of culling of stray dogs to prevent rabies from spreading. This decision is somehow kinda opposed by animal activists.

A little from the article "Animal Activist begs halt to culling of stray dogs" in The Star paper today:-

Penang Animal Welfare Society (4Paws) founder Babara Janssen was in tears as she went down on her knees. She passed out momentarily before she was help up.
"I love Penang like I love the dogs and this is my home. If I have to die for Penang for the betterment of dogs, I will do it."

We as humans will always have the love for other living creatures. The guilt of killing a living creature will be there. But there will always be people who loves them more. We will be like "Poor dogs.." but we won't really do anything. These people will be fighting for the dogs, trying to spare them a life. Hearts are made from crystals. When a person chooses to made such decision is either from his/her:-

1. Rational thinking

or

2. The person is selfish

Well, it depends on how we see the issue. From one perspective, we will be like, yes.. what the state government do is correct. This will save more lives.. human are in risk. As featured in The Star:-

Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng said he was only doing his job as a state leader by not putting people at risk, adding that he was willing to lose public support over his decision.
"I respect opinions of animal activists and non-governmental organisations and I hope they will respect mine. I only made this decision after getting advice from experts in the state veterinary and health departments. I don't want to put lives of 1.6 million Penangnites at risk."

And some people will be like "Yes, you do it right, man! Hey, we love dogs too, but.. you choose.. the dogs die, or you die?"

Being a leader is not easy. When it come to issues like that, I guess.. nope, I am pretty sure that this is a really hard decision to make.

From another perspective, like, as in from the animal lovers' perspective, it is really a hard reality to swallow. It is bitter to see these happening without doing anything. Imagine, the animal activists were doing so much, preparing places for stray dogs and cats to stay, organizing a lot of events to raise fund for these lovely creatures. Whoever follows their pages should know. It is a great effort and we really see how much they really care regarding this issue.

But, to think rationally.. I read my friend's status a few days ago. It really opened my eyes on this issue.

"Culling dogs? Maybe we should cull humans who are infected too! And also cull uninfected humans coz they risk being infected!"
"Maybe we should start killing Africans to prevent the spread of Ebola."

And if you think, stray dogs' population can be considered large. You think it is possible to cull all of them?

I'm not saying who is wrong and who is right here but.. to me, maybe there is other ways? Culling of stray dogs is not the only way, right? It is sad to see this. I think I might cry if I'm there to watch this happen. They are living creatures just like us. Why we can kill them just like that? Why can't we kill human too, just like that? If it is human, why we do take the effort to find other ways? They have families, just like us. They breathe, just like us. They have feelings, just like us.

Someone Like You - Adele

Verse 1:

I heard that you're settled down
that you found a girl
and you're married now
I heard that your dreams came true
Guess she gave you things I didn't give to you
Old friend, why are you so shy?
Ain't like you to hold back
or hide from the light

Pre-Chorus:

I hate to turn up out of the blue uninvited
but I couldn't stay away
I couldn't fight it
I had hope you see my face
and that you'd be reminded that for me
it isn't over

Chorus 1:

Nevermind I'll find someone like you
I wish nothing but the best for you too
Don't forget me, I beg
I'll remember you said
"Sometimes it last in love
but sometimes it hurt instead"
Sometimes it last in love
but sometimes it hurt instead

Verse 2:

You'd know how the time flies
Only yesterday was the time of our lives
We were born and raised
in a summer haze bound by
these surprise of our glory days

*Repeat Pre-Chorus*

Chorus 2:

Nevermind I'll find someone like you
I wish nothing but the best for you too
Don't forget me, I beg
I'll remember you said
"Sometimes it last in love
but sometimes it hurt instead"

Bridge:

Nothing compares no worries or cares
Regrets and mistakes they are memories made
Who would have known how bitter sweet this will taste?

*Repeat Chorus 2*

*Repeat Chorus 1*

Student Life Part 1

So, here is a real fact and category of student life. Normal human, as a student will either be in one of these 3 categories:

Category 1: STUDY + SOCIAL = NO SLEEP

As we can see here, you want to be a perfect student that many people like or either you just wanna socialize but doesn't want to mess up with your studies. You either spend a lot of time with people in school and burn the midnight oil at night to keep up with studies. OR, you doesn't really talk to people much in school, you did talk but at the same time study. BUT you help people a lot and takes most of the group work so you end up burning the midnight oil at night to finish up other's work. The legend continues and only God knows when you will actually have a real good sleep without any worries *smirks*

Category 2: SOCIAL + SLEEP = NOT VERY PRESENTABLE EXAM RESULT

You were busy spending your time with your friends in school instead of studying or doing your school work, causing it to become homework. Worse, when you come home in the afternoon or in the evening, you somehow still need to spend time with your family so you actually only do like, half of your homework? Then you will be like nah, a student need to know how to stay alive. My body needs rest and I don't wanna die so I don't care, it is now 12 and I'm gonna sleep. So the question is, "WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO STUDY?"

Category 3: SLEEP + STUDY = NO FRIENDS

There are actually people who excels in their studies and have enough sleep at the same time. I'm surprised to actually find out there are still a lot of people that pay full attention in class and never even once sleep in the class (although this group is decreasing and seems like will soon extinct). These people think that sleeping in the class is a sin. People in this group are normally defined as stressed when it is near to exam. They can lock the world out and study. Well, they are used to this way of life but just people from other categories think they are crazy. Well, everyone actually thinks students of the other category is crazy so this is quite normal.

And the not so normal category:-

NO SLEEP, NO SOCIAL, NO STUDY

Are you alive?

Well, this is just what I've got from my observations. No offense yo! So, which category are you? Or did I actually left out some other categories? Do comment ^^ Thank you!

UPSR tomorrow..

Time passes so quickly. I feel like it was just last month I took UPSR, it was just last week I entered secondary school.. it was just yesterday I took PT3.. just in a few blink, here I am, in September, sitting in a form 4 class, eating so much to prevent myself from falling asleep like nobody's business.

But, guess what, tomorrow is the UPSR examination! Since I left my primary school until today, I've known quite a few brothers and sisters who are now in Primary 6. Friends' siblings, juniors from SK Batu Lanchang, 'adik-adik' (younger brothers and sisters) from SJK (C) Chong Cheng that I've met during the exchange programme (especially my "女儿" ("daughter") xD, neighbours, sons and daughters of my parents' friends, to name a few (actually quite a lot).

Today, whether I did mention you just now or not, whether I know you or not, even if you are a stranger or even I don't even know who you are or you actually existed, practically everyone, who will be taking the exam tomorrow. Good luck for your exam. Do your best and leave no regret. Whether your result will come flying with rainbow colours, tumbling down the hill and hit you, flowing away together with river water or whatever form it will come to you, don't think of it now.. Think of it on the result day. Haha.

Whatever it is, I wish everyone of you all the best, good luck! 加油! Gambateh! You can do it! Wait for my SPM next year T_T haha huhu.. lol~

Random story out of nowhere

As a formal form 4 student who is in science stream, I always have this problem with the Chemistry. Not only me and the subject Chemistry have no chemistry, but same goes to me with the teachers. The first day I step into the class I have a feeling that I will have this problem with the teacher. She taught me Maths in form 1. She was like "Yun Sing this class argh?" and gave some reaction as like she is very unlucky to have me in the class she is teaching.

This teacher likes to ask questions the day after she finishes a subtopic, which is a very good thing to do to make sure the students are aware of what is going on in the class. I will always be the last person standing in the class for not being able to answer her questions. Last one standing. Not good. I need to change but how?

Then there's it. She's on her maternity leave. We've got this new teacher, like really new, very young.. just 3 years older than us. But she was super good. The thing is she is really energized and teaches really fast in class. It's ok, we can understand what she was actually teaching. And she gave a lot of homework, too. One month, Then, we never see her again.

Poof! There'll be another teacher. Ok, we're not surprised. Waiting.. POOF! A man walked into the class. The first impression given was, "he is too weird!! I cannot!! x"D" Yeah.. practically it's like that. Every time he taught in front we will be giggling, he acted really weird and that's cute and funny.. He's like a mystery. When he first came, he don't even introduce himself. I got to know his name only when the lab assistant called him.

When other teachers asked, who teaches you Chemistry now? We'll be like.. "hmm.. the new teacher.. err.. *describe* *describe* *describe*" The teachers will be like "ooo.. him.." I always thought he is someone different and yeah.. poof! Today's the last day of him teaching us. Our teacher will be coming back tomorrow from her long holiday. He didn't actually taught us today. He gave us some talk. Inspirational talk. Yeah.. Bingo! I said so he is different.

Everyone was inspired and yeah.. bye bye~ To me he is still weird -_- Somehow.. It's ok.. I've seen a lot of weird people in my life. I, myself is weird, I think. Practically everyone is weird. Ok.., deep! You seldom find a girl who will actually go to people's house and talks to herself, then say "Stop talking to yourself. If not, the people in the house will be like, there's a weird girl talking to herself in my house!"

That's all the random life story for today. Bye xD

In the end, we only regret the chances we didn't take

In life, there are chances everywhere. Grab them. Never feel scared to try because in the end you will regret the chances which you let go of. Some chances only appear once a lifetime.

THINK ABOUT IT
