Inside Out

Yesterday, my friends and I hangout at Gurney Plaza. The main objective of going out that day is to watch Inside Out. We all agreed to watch it at 2.45P</ On that very day I discovered that there are people who actually doesn't know where the cinema is. We went out to bring my friend in. It was like, 2.43PM? And this girl actually ran to the cinema, insisting that she doesn't want to miss the first part. Three of us actually ran to the cinema. Yes, like seriously xD

It took forever to reach the cinema, with human jam, with a bagpack, with the big plaza. We finally reached the cinema. We went in without getting ourselves some popcorn. (Sigh)

We sat in the cinema like.. this is the first time I sweat in a cinema, with no popcorn. And guess what we ran for.., advertisement -_- Told her that there'll be 15 minutes of advertisement but she kept on running. Let me list down what she had missed. Nescafe, Mc Donalds, KFC.. (facepalm).. Well, cut the crap.. the movie was really awesome.

Introducing you these cute little personified emotions

Joy

Anger

Sadness

Disgust

Fear

They are shoo cute <3

The movie takes place in the head of this girl, Riley Andersen. Everything is really under control since the very beginning. The five personified emotions work in the headquarters. The headquarters is where the memories are played, the core memories which form islands- which is Riley's personality. When anything goes wrong, Joy will handle them. Riley's life is kinda perfect, I could say. A loving family, great friends and fun. Riley is really good in playing hockey. One day, the family just moved away (might be due to financial problem cause the dad kept on talking on the phone about work). Then, there's Riley's first day of school in the new place.

Joy wanted it to be a nice day for Riley. The teacher asked her to introduce herself. Sadness touched one of the memories. Riley started crying. Joy and Sadness fought over the memory when they accidentally entered the tube which brings all the memory to the islands, out of the headquarters. Joy and Sadness both are thrown out. Joy tries her best to save all the core memories. Sadness showed the way back.

Sadness is shoooo cute xD She's exactly like me, I could say.. LOL. Things kept on going wrong. The two had gone through a lot of things. The islands fell apart, the train stopped working, the train fell off, Riley's imagination friend, Bing Bong, Riley's dream boyfriend, the workers, the forgotten memories, the dream..

While Joy and Sadness struggled to go back to the headquarters, Anger, Disgust and Fear did not know how to control things. Riley argued with her parents, screwed up during hockey, booked the ticket back to her old house, stole money from her mu's purse and ran away from home. That caused the personality islands where Joy and Sadness are in, trying to walk back to headquarters, to collapse.

What could happen to Riley? Will Joy and Sadness able to get back to HQ? Will everything be under control? Watch the movie to find out ^^ See what is happening in everyone's head.

Watch the trailer :D

Moral of the story: In order to have happiness, you must have sadness (credit to Ishwari) xD

Proud of you

Source: facebook

On the 29th of August, two of the students from my school, St. George's Girls' School, competed in the Anchor Idol finals in the English category. Was quite upset I could not attend to support them but they did really well. My senior, Sheree Tan emerged as champion, following the footstep of our senior, who was the champion for last year's Anchor Idol. Despite having SPM Trial, she still did her best in the competition. Congrats, you made the school proud. Continue pursuing your dream to become a broadcaster. We will all support you :)

Rashveen Kaur, a form 4 student in my school whom I don't even know existed in my school, to be honest with you. I'm sorry, didn't actually know everyone who is same form as me in school. I thought she was actually from CGL when I first saw her in the training workshop. Congrats upon winning the third prize in the Anchor Idol competition. Proud of you :) Finally know you. You should really talk more in school, man! I don't even see you in school.

Proud of you guys :) Was quite sad that I could not join you in the battle. Was stuck in semi-final. I can try again next year~ Well, I couldn't attend to watch because I was involved in the 'Pertandingan Literasi Sains dan Teknologi 2015' in RECSAM. Our school have got consolation prize. Anyway, go SGGS! Once a Georgian, Forever a Georgian ^^

Penang Chew Jetty

It has been a while since I visited places in Penang. One day I needed to meet a person at one of the food stall to collect a book. So, I was forced to go to the jetty. As I walked, I realized there were actually jetties - Chew Jetty, Tan Jetty and more.. I decided to go back again.

This fine Sunday morning I travel by Rapid bus to the jetty bus terminal. I walked to my left side once I walked out of the bus terminal. I kept on going until I saw this Chew jetty. I thought it was the first one but I actually missed some of the jetties.

I was at the Chew Jetty before and it was really cool. The people who lives there in their old wooden houses on water with just wooden planks, every single house sells something. I bought a keychain with my surname - Lim. They sell other stuffs like ice-cream, too!

It was before.. I went like 11 something in the morning. This time it is 7.30, where everyone just woke up. You feel the awkwardness when you walked pass their houses. Its like villagers and suddenly an alien walked into the village. People just woke up, an aunty going to the market, an uncle driving his motorbike home, another man getting ready to start his business, a little girl running around the house and two older men talking to each other.

You hear their conversation in Hokkien which sounded like "I woke up late." "Yesterday it was (something3)" "Last morning I woke up early and it was a lot.. today late already, it is lesser." "People start to come in dy." (Which I think they were talking about me..) I walked until the end of the jetty and yeah.. I saw a group of teenagers coming to take photo at Chew Jetty early in the morning, just like me.

I heard them accusing each other for waking up late. "You woke up late." "Hello, I wake up at 7am" "6.30am I woke up dy.." And I'm like.. I woke up at 5.30 just now.. I just looked at them taking pictures of the sunrise when I realized I'd forgotten my camera. Haiz... Let's use the phone to take some photos then..

The end.. I've walked pass all the people's houses. Now I reached the temple. (Even I wondered why I did not take the picture of the temple instead but the picture of the view from the temple -,-)

Sunrise <3 I realize the need to take this when I looked at the group of teenagers zooming away, focusing at the sun with their DSLR camera.

There you go, the temple :)

Sunrise.. boats.. jetty.. housing.. people.. Mr, Mrs, Miss Chews

Leaving the village, this is the I don't know what.. I think it is a temple.. which is located at the entrance of the jetty..

The Chew Jetty Kongsi

Chew Jetty :)

I walked out of the jetty, stopped and googled about this place. Let's read about it! ^^

- The biggest of the waterfront settlements in George Town
- Created in the middle of the 19th Century
- The only clan jetty left that continues to have observe the once a year annual worship of its Temple Deity and the Jade Emperor (Thnee Kong, or "god of the skies")
- Consists of a community that has existed for over a hundred years, suspended in time above the tide lines
- Consist of seven sets of wooden piers
- Home to one of the seven clans who migrated from China: the Lims, Chews, Tans, Lees, Yeohs, Koays and one mixed jetty.

Breakfast at Padang Tembak canteen

Morning, peeps! I am kind of busy so I don't always have breakfast there until there was once my friend from Sungai Ara came and we went there for breakfast. When she asked me to recommend her what is good there, I blanked out because it was like one or two years ago since I went there although it is just walking distance from home. What was even worst was I don't remember the route there.

It was just then I realised how important it is to get to know your neighbourhood. This morning, I decided to continue my weekly routine, go jogging at the park and then eat at the canteen. So there I was with my aunt. :)

I had 'kuey teow t'hing' with bandung. My aunt had 'wantan mee' and milo ice. At first, I wanted to get the big bowl of 'kuey teow' but luckily I took the small one because I couldn't finish it! The bandung was good, and this is like the first kopitiam that put a lot of milk in it (it give a different taste, it was nice)..

Should try the bandung ^^
